Course Description
Leadership lab is a dynamic and integrated grouping of leadership developmental activities designed to meet the needs and expectations of prospective Air Force second lieutenants and to complement the Air Force ROTC academic program. Lab is a student planned, organized, and executed practicum conducted under the supervision of the detachment commander and commandant of cadets.

Course Objectives
Provide first-year cadets an informative and motivational program designed to recruit, retain, and familiarize cadets with the Air Force way of life and foster leadership, followership, teamwork, and esprit de corps.

Know the principles of the AFOATS Training Guide. Know AF customs and courtesies. Know AF dress and grooming standards. Know the AF and AFROTC grade structure and insignia. Know the AF and AFROTC chain of command. Know the AFROTC Honor Code. Know the AFROTC weight and fitness standards. Know the courtesies and procedures associated with the U.S. flag. Know individual and flight drill positions. Know individual and flight drill movements. Know effective followership skills. Know the benefits of teamwork and communication. Demonstrate individual and flight drill movements. Know the environment of an AF officer. Meet required AFROTC weight and fitness standards. Apply AF customs and courtesies. Apply AF dress and grooming standrads. Participate in an activity that demonstrates unit formal dinner customs and procedures. Participate in a unit formal reveille/retreat.
