Fourth semester of supervised clinical practice with clients of all ages and various cultural/linguistic backgrounds. Skill development in prevention, evaluation, and intervention with moderate-severe communication disorders. Development of interaction/personal qualities. Professional issues in speech- language pathology and case studies presented in weekly seminars.

Course Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Integrate and apply knowledge of academic content, research, and evidence-based clinical practice to clinical procedures used with culturally diverse clients across the life span. 2. Demonstrate clinical competency in principles and methods of prevention, evaluation, and intervention with moderate-severe communication disorders. 3. Apply knowledge of ethical conduct standards to clinical practice. 4. Discuss knowledge of contemporary professional issues affecting the profession of speech-language pathology. 5. Acquire clock hours in supervised clinical practicum as partial fulfillment of the standards for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology.

1. Performance in clinical practicum for development of competency in prevention, evaluation, and intervention with moderate-severe communication disorders 2. Participation in weekly seminar with topics to include: a. Clinic procedures b. Case management techniques c. Case presentations d. Ethics in speech-language pathology e. Professional issues related to the practice of speech- language pathology f. State and federal regulations for professional practice, including the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and state licensure laws
