Course Description
Participation and review of topics related to seminars delivered by invited guest speakers at departmental seminars. Students are required to attend all department weekly seminars. Each week, students will prepare an overview and summary of the guest speaker's topic for distribution to the rest of the department.

Course Objectives
Students will gain additional insight and understanding of the broad range of topics studied in the realm of plant biology. Preparing the overview/summary will give the students more familiarity with the speaker's topic than they would normally have if the topic is distant from the student's own discipline. Students will learn what characterizes a good scientific presentation, how to speak, and how to organize slides/Powerpoint presentations.
