Present students with integrative studies of various aspects of Slavic linguistics or the literatures or cultures of Slavic-speaking countries.
Topical Outline
Will vary depending on topic of seminar. Sample topic: Old Church Slavic An introduction to the language of the earliest Slavic texts, together with a study of the historical development of the Slavic languages. Grammar of Old Church Slavic; reading, translation, and linguistic analysis of selected texts; overview of the development of Slavic phonological and morphological systems from Common Slavic to the present.
