Student Learning Outcomes

  • In this course, students will employ instrumentation to collect data that describe physical environmental conditions, then interpret their collected data as part of the scientific method to document meteorological processes.
  • Students will work in groups to record their methods, collected data, and analysis in an organized and replicable manner, and clearly convey their conclusions in written form.
  • As part of this course, students will diagnose the fundamental processes that operate to influence weather and climate and use this knowledge to interpret forecasts of weather events such as severe weather and hurricanes
  • Students will produce and interpret various forms of weather and climate maps.
