Course Description
Designed for students with significant experience in French, this course will provide firsthand experience working in a French business. Students will work using their language and culture skills while performing tasks in one of several organizations.

Non-Traditional Format
In order to complete the course successfully, students will be required to submit a learning agreement, work approximately 25 hours per week for the duration of the program, keep a written journal of their work experience, have regular meetings or written communication with the instructor of record, and write a final paper.

Course Objectives
The internship will provide a formal experiential learning opportunity for qualified students of French. The aim of the internship is threefold: to increase French language proficiency, to increase cultural understanding and awareness, and to gain knowledge of work practices in France.
Topical Outline
The course will allow students who are majoring or minoring in French to combine professional and academic experience in a French-speaking work environment. The instructor of record will monitor and evaluate the student's regular written work and will insure that there is sufficient academic value to the internship. A final paper will bring together the student's experiences and require an additional depth of knowledge and research.
