Course Objectives
- Provide graduate students with examples of state-of-the-art research and extension work conducted in topics relevant to their theses and dissertations. - Familiarize students with seminar presentations, similar to the ones students will be giving in their professional careers. - Provide graduate students with the opportunity to network with other students, faculty and invited experts, and learn about the research that is conducted in the Department. - Enhance the quality of graduate students' theses and dissertations and improve their employment prospects after graduation.
Topical Outline
Presentations cover a broad range of topics, including Environmental Valuation, Agricultural and Environmental Policy, International Trade and Policy, Agricultural Marketing and Consumer Demand, Production Economics and Policy, Finance, Economic Development, Risk Management, and Agribusiness. These represent areas of specialization of the faculty in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics.
