Music Therapy Practicum VI


Course Description

Continuation of senior level of practical experience in conducting music therapy sessions with selected clients. Includes more in-depth assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of weekly music therapy sessions throughout the semester.

Field work under the supervision of a licensed music therapist (2-4 hours per week in the field plus preparation time).

Course Objectives

Students will demonstrate ability to: * observe and accurately record client's responses to musical stimuli; * communicate assessment findings and recommendations in verbal and written forms; * design and implement methods for evaluating and measuring client progress and the effectiveness of therapeutic strategies; * recognize significant changes and patterns in the clients' response to therapy.
