Course Objectives
In this course, students will learn to: 1. Use the Stata statistical software program (or equivalent) to analyze secondary data. 2. Identify, download, and analyze secondary data from national, state, and local sources. 3. Prepare statistical reports describing key relationships in such data.

1. Introduction to web-based tools for accessing publicly available secondary datasets. 2. Introduction to Stata statistical software program (or equivalent). 3. Using Stata (or equivalent) to conduct basic descriptive and exploratory analyses. Graphical displays of data. 4. Using Stata (or equivalent) to manipulate data. Introduction to programming simple transformations & analyses. 5. Assembling effective statistical reports.
