Course Objectives
1. To gain an understanding of current issues related to Residential Design 2. To gain an understanding of various cultural, social, natural and other events that impact Residential Design 3. To gain an understanding of different housing types 4. To gain an understanding of the implications of sustainability, accessibility, adaptation, safety, and support of the user(s) over time in residential design 5. To explore human perception of and response to interior environments 6. To acquire an understanding of the design process from programming to contract document and apply it to projects

1. Research current issues in Residential Design 2. Research historical precedents that impact "new" and innovative housing forms 3. Create new and innovative solutions in housing design that impact and relate to current events and issues such as economic and natural disaster
