Course Objectives
By the end of the course the student will be able to: Define social marketing and compare and contrast social and business marketing. Explain marketing theory as it applies to health knowledge, attitudes and behaviors. Assess needs, interests and incentives for health programs in various settings. Describe how gender, culture, and ethnicity impacts the marketing effort. Explain the role research plays in marketing. Develop a plan based upon marketing theory and process. Identify and compare promotional systems and media. Evaluate strengths and weaknesses of social marketing theory as applied to health.
