Issues and Practices in Sustainable Design


Course Description

The issues and practices used in contemporary green buildings, including the United States Green Building Council's LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system. Prepares students to take the LEED accreditation exam, if they so choose, after the course is completed.

Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students will be required to enter the annual Natural Talent Design Competition. Students may work in teams as allowed by the competition rules. Teams may also consist of other graduate students not enrolled in this course as allowed by the competition rules. Graduate students, upon completion, may sit for the LEED AP Exam.

Understanding of the LEED Rating System 4. Preparation to take the LEED Accreditation Exam after the course is complete.
