Course Description
This course focuses on science studies, which includes history, philosophy, sociology, and anthropology of science, and its association with science education. Particular attention is given to the ways in which theoretical and methodological frameworks derived from science studies can be applied to science education.

Course Objectives
To examine seminal works in science studies, which relates to history, philosophy, sociology, and anthropology of science, as well the relevance of these works to contemporary science education research To examine the range of ways these seminal works provide frameworks that may be brought to bear on issues in science education To consider examples of the applications of science studies to specific issues in science education To compare and contrast theoretical strengths and weaknesses of history, philosophy, sociology, and anthropology in the context of science education To examine the methods and methodologies associated with history, philosophy, sociology, and anthropology and their application to science education research
