Intermediate Persian II


Course Description

Continuation of Intermediate Persian I. Oral fluency and development of writing and reading skills in Persian (Farsi). Taught by vocabulary use in simulated settings through repetition drills, frequent vocabulary use, acting, and reading aloud. Augmented by reading, translation, and discussion of Persian texts drawn from news articles and Persian literature.

Course Objectives

The objectives of the course are to help students to: 1- read texts of intermediate level II difficulty. 2- communicate and converse in Persian on a variety of topics and understand spoken Persian in everyday situations. 3- write intermediate narrative style paragraphs coherently and with reasonable accuracy. 4- develop cultural awareness through additional readings and class discussions.
