Course Description
Continuation of Elementary Turkish I and II. Oral fluency and development of writing and reading skills in Turkish. Taught by the use of vocabulary in simulated settings through repetition drills, frequent use of vocabulary, acting, and reading aloud. Augmented by reading, translation, and discussion in Turkish of Turkish texts.

Course Objectives
The objectives of the course are to help students to: 1- read texts of intermediate level I difficulty. 2- communicate and converse in Turkish on a variety of topics and understand spoken Turkish in everyday situations. 3- write intermediate narrative style paragraphs coherently and with reasonable accuracy. 4- develop cultural awareness through additional readings and class discussions. Communicate Effectively through Writing: To strengthen skills in written composition, analysis, and presentation by means of projects such as essays, papers, reports, and examinations. Communicate Effectively through Speech: To strengthen skills in oral expression, analysis, style, and interaction by means such as class reports, class discussion, and oral examinations.
