Course Description
Electronic music composition techniques, focusing on interactive systems, live electronic music, and multimedia applications, and current trends in music utilizing interactive technologies. Semester also includes recording studio workshops.
Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Additional requirements for graduate students are based on added
project specifications requiring more in-depth understanding of
the unit topics.
Project 1 (instrument building project): graduate students must
also map the instrument to an external controller.
Project 2 (algorithmic composition): graduate student patches
must make use of FFT analysis.
Project 3 (live signal processing): graduate students must use a
multi-channel (quadraphonic) configuration. Graduate students are
also held to higher expectations of creative scope for the final
project.
