Course Objectives
Students will: 1. Understand basic concepts in and history of the Instructional Technology field 2. Critically read and reflect on literature related to technology planning for instruction 3. Demonstrate the information literacy and technology skills necessary for planning for technology use in instruction 4. Create components of a technology plan that can be used in an educational setting 5. Develop the skills and disposition to meet in their professional practice the following objectives (from the ISTE standards): -Contribute to the development, communication, and implementation of a shared vision for the comprehensive use of technology to support a digital-age education for all students -Contribute to the planning, development, communication, implementation, and evaluation of technology-infused strategic plans at the district and school levels -Advocate for policies, procedures, programs, and funding strategies to support implementation of the shared vision represented in the school and district technology plans and guidelines -Implement strategies for initiating and sustaining technology innovations and manage the change process in schools and classrooms
