Course Objectives

1. To read a wide variety of adolescent literature and adult literature appropriate for young readers 2. To read multicultural fiction 3. To read graphic texts 4. To read standard adolescent fictional texts 5. To read adolescent fiction featuring issues of sexual identity 6. To read non-fiction 7. To compare/contrast adolescent fiction with canonical fiction 8. To analyze at least three adolescent novels
