Performance of new and standard wind compositions with concentration on advanced scores.
Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students will prepare and present analyses of selected
repertoire (written formal, phrasal, and harmonic analyses
assessed through quality of written assignments and oral
presentations). Demonstrate technical skill, musicianship, and
leadership in the ensemble at the graduate/professional level.

Course Objectives
The student will be able: * to demonstrate a high level of technical facility on a wind or percussion instrument; * to demonstrate a high level of musicianship; * to perform successfully in a symphonic ensemble; * to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and performance practice of selected repertoire. Graduate students will: * prepare and present analysis of the harmonic and formal structure of selected repertoire; * demonstrate and explain to undergraduate students the rational for interpretation of the musical line being rehearsed; * demonstrate ability to teach/conduct sectional rehearsals.
