Course Objectives
Understand a budget document. Prepare a building level budget. Understand the linkage between instruction and resource management. Analyze a school system issue, suggest a resolution based on research, analyze the final implications. Make a presentation(both oral and written) to the class such as one would make to a board of education. Evaluate issues that are germane to school business management such as the privatization of educational services, the costs and benefits of services such as transportation, food services, special and compensatory education. Understand issues of accountability, equity, efficiency, and adequacy in using school system monies.
