Exploration of different approaches to understanding and studying the management, behavior, and performance of media and mass communication organizations. Focuses on the application of management theory to the study of media and mass communication organizations, and the current state of research in the area.

Course Objectives

The course will help students understand how internal and external factors influence management decisions in media organizations and how those decisions affect the functioning of media markets, industries and organizations. Students will become familiar with the primary theoretical and methodological approaches used to study media and mass communications organizations and current research in the field.
