Course Description
Provides intensive support for graduate students who are writing up qualitative research studies for professional journals, theses, and/or dissertations. Explores a variety of models of writing within qualitative research traditions across disciplines. Supports writers through individual writing conferences, structured writing time, and group feedback.

Non-Traditional Format
This is a six day intensive writing retreat. Each day students write for 6 hours, confer with their peers and instructor for 1 hour, and participate in a 3-hour group seminar where they discuss issues and read excerpts of their writing for group feedback.

Course Objectives
Students will: - Explore options for writing and publishing qualitative research - Examine theses and dissertations in their disciplines for structure, style, and voice - Select mentor texts appropriate for their discipline - Write and confer daily - Develop strategies for giving and receiving peer feedback - Revise writing based on peer feedback
