Ballet IV


Course Description

Designed to further build the strength, flexibility, endurance, and control necessary for performance of advanced level ballet barre exercises, adagio sequences and allegro enchainments. Style, perfection, and performance quality will be emphasized.

  • By the end of this course, students will be able to demonstrate an advanced physical understanding ballet technique, including vocabulary.
  • By the end of this course, students will be able to perform advanced ballet steps with efficiency and clarity.
  • By the end of this course, students will be able to apply and retain physical corrections in technique.
  • By the end of this course, students will be able to demonstrate mind-body coordination through quick response in executing ballet exercises.
  • By the end of this course, students will be able to display style, musicality and expressivity when performing movement phrases.

  • • Exercises at the ballet ballet
  • • Exercises au milieu (in the center of the room)
  • • French terminology which is the ballet vocabulary (names of steps and movements)
  • • Practical application of balletic theory of order, tempo, physical placement (body alignment), musicality, artistic expression within the movement(s)
