Course Description
An overview of qualitative research that seeks to stimulate students' imaginations with readings drawn from anthropology, economics, history, political science, sociology, higher education, and interdisciplinary work. In all readings, we will focus on how the research techniques might be used in the study of higher education.

Course Objectives
(1) Introduce students to the possibilities of qualitative research; (2) work with students to understand the higher education problems qualitative research best addresses; (3) work with students to understand the theories appropriate to qualitative problems; (4) work with students to analyze qualitative research to understand how to use methods and techniques in their own work.
