Course Objectives
The student will learn about a selected topic in physics, beyond the scope of the regular undergraduate physics sequence.
Topical Outline
The student and his/her faculty advisor or project director will determine an individual course of study. However, it is expected that the student's work will include most or all of the following: a) reading selected textbooks and other references outside the physics undergraduate sequence b) solving physics problems assigned from textbook reading, to develop a working knowledge of the topic being studied c) reading scientific journal articles d) working on a specialized project (e.g., a lab apparatus, computer code, data analysis, etc.) related to the topic e) submitting the results for credit
