Course Objectives
This course will reinforce skills learned in prerequisite studio courses, which may include, but are not limited to the following: design fundamentals, design process, graphic and written communication, site inventory and analysis, illustrative analog and digital graphics, construction detailing, construction documents, site engineering and stormwater management, plant selection, and planting design. Knowledge of urban design components (buildings, transportation, land use, pedestrian accommodation, and environmental processes, and their interconnections in space, in densely constructed and occupied settings) and the application of design process to urban design solutions. Students will demonstrate the ability to find and apply information about urban systems, sites, and construction as needed in unique new sites, developing technologies, and emerging urban needs. Students will properly apply and document materials of landscape architectural construction to urban problem-solving and design. Students will properly apply graphic, written, and verbal communication to design solutions.
