Ballet IV


Course Description

Designed to further build the strength, flexibility, endurance, and control necessary for performance of advanced/pre-professional ballet barre exercises, adagio sequences, and allegro enchainments. Style, perfection, and performance quality will be emphasized.

Course Objectives

- To achieve a comprehensive knowledge of advanced classical ballet vocabulary. - To achieve a sensitive personal interpretation of classical ballet movement. - To demonstrate a mature interpretation of musicality and mood. - To develop fluidity in movement with contrasting with the use of contrasting dynamics.


Topical Outline

Class will meet two days per week and will consist of: a) barre exercises b) center exercises c) classical ballet vocabulary d) theories of order, tempo, placement and musicality as taught by the instructor.
