Exploration of potential careers for English majors and preparing students to apply for jobs using rhetorically-targeted application materials.

Non-Traditional Format
Students will attend workshops and career fairs sponsored by the UGA Career Center and will also participate in the UGA Mentorship Program outside of class time.
Prerequisite
Two 2000-level ENGL courses or (one 2000-level ENGL course and one 3000-level ENGL course) or (one 2000-level ENGL course and one 2000-level CMLT course)

Course Objectives
Course Objectives: • Research careers that utilize an English major’s skills and identify entry-level positions in those fields • Complete a Group Project by working in a team environment to produce successful deliverables • Craft a professional ethos using social media and employment documents • Participate in the UGA Mentorship Program • Complete a Final Employment Project by applying to a job for which you are qualified Learning Outcomes: • The ability to successfully research new and different careers • The ability to incorporate research into rhetorically-targeted employment materials • The ability to work productively in a group and successfully give and receive feedback • The ability to network and build professional relationships
