Student learning Outcomes

  • Students will be able to write a design program for a specific site based upon analysis of existing opportunities and constraints.
  • Students will be able to apply earthwork and storm water management techniques to a specific site.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of construction surveying and layout techniques by creating a construction layout plan.
  • Students will be able to create a planting plan that demonstrates an understanding of planting design, proper selection based upon site conditions, horticultural principles, and design objectives.
  • Students will be able to identify and explain basic construction techniques.
  • Students will be able to identify and apply new construction technologies to their design solutions.
  • Students will be able to calculate quantities of materials needed to build a specific design and calculate overall construction costs.
