Course Description
Students, drawing on multiple disciplines, explore the application of an education in the arts and sciences to practical issues, including those associated with leading efforts toward change in an increasingly interconnected world. Students examine theory related to leadership and apply these concepts through case studies and simulations.

Course Objectives
• Students will understand theory related to leadership and be able to apply models and frameworks intended to guide its application. • Students will appreciate the challenges associated with leadership in a global context, particularly as it relates to initiatives in the developing world. • Students will explore the application of theory and concepts in leadership to cases, both hypothetical and real, as well as within the context of complex simulations in which they adopt roles. • Students will consider the relevance of their education in the arts and sciences through applying it to practical issues, particularly those associated with leading efforts toward change in an increasingly interconnected world. • Students will examine the connections between leadership and service through work on actual projects. • Students will articulate their experiences in the context of theory and evidence in an effective written narrative.
