Course Description
Independent projects in scenery, costume, or lighting design, aimed at developing professional placement skills and portfolio presentation techniques. Students will use the semester to develop professional resumes, reference banks, and placement skills while developing design portfolios in both electronic and traditional formats.

Course Objectives
This course is designed to illustrate competitive portfolio and job searching skills while aiding students in finalizing their design skills and applying them to a portfolio that displays their work in the best manner possible. The primary objective of the class is to have the students develop personal portfolios, resumes, and interview skills that make them competitive in both the job and educational markets. Specific Objectives include: 1. Develop an understanding of where and how to coordinate a successful job search. 2. Develop successful application tools (business cards, resumes, etc.). 3. Create a design portfolio. 4. Develop related portfolio materials in a digital format (web/CD-ROM portfolio). 5. Develop successful interview skills for job placement. 6. Create a credential file with the university or online placement service.
