Course Objectives
Students will prepare a thesis based on one or more semesters of undergraduate research. Students who successfully complete the course will be expected to describe their own original research that makes a contribution to the discipline within the framework of the current level of understanding for their area of research. Students will be evaluated on the basis of their understanding of the topic and final thesis.
Topical Outline
Students will submit an abstract of their original research project. Topics include examination of other theses and dissertations in the discipline; thorough review of the relevant literature; drafts of thesis chapters, including introduction, methods, findings, discussion and future research, will be critiqued by professor and reader. Thesis conference will structure a more formal feedback process, noting required and recommended changes.
