Course Description

Discussion and critique of global health promotion programs incorporating multi-level examination. Theory, disease prevalence, case studies, human rights, and social determinants of global health will be examined in the context of health promotion.

Course Objectives

Evaluate the impact of the social determinants of global health through the health promotion lens. Explain how the history of global health promotion influences the health promotion programs of today. Discuss important global health promotion case studies. Identify important health promotion constructs such as health equity, health literacy, and equality.
