Topical Outline

Discussion in this class will focus on articles from medical journals (and perhaps lay magazines, newspapers, and Web sites) each week. The course will give pre-med students some insight into the daily activities of a practicing physician, including the moral, ethical, scientific, communication, and legal dilemmas generated in patient care situations that demand that a physician’s decision result in a proper outcome. These topics are sometimes pertinent in interviews and essays for medical school applications.
