Biomedical Informatics


Course Description

This course introduces advanced topics and applications of biomedical informatics, including health informatics systems, imaging informatics systems, computer-aided diagnosis, computer-aided follow-up, and translational biomedical informatics systems. Advanced applications of state-of-the-art biomedical informatics software systems will be emphasized.

Course Objectives

Students will have a thorough understanding of the most common biomedical informatics problems and approaches, as well as their advanced applications. This course is aimed at graduate students in computer science and biomedical health sciences. Computer science students will understand the state-of-the-art advanced algorithms to deal with complex, heterogeneous and high dimensional biomedical data. Biomedical health sciences students will understand current software environments and solutions to support healthcare management.
