It analyzes the patterns of human settlements, identifies and dissects their various components, and explores the physical, cultural, and political factors affecting the arrangement of structures and spaces.

Course Objectives
The primary objectives of this course are to help students understand, explain, distinguish and characterize urban landscapes and how urban patterns have developed over time. To enhance their skills in morphological analyses and their critical thinking of the urban physical concepts; and to develop further research interests in urban morphology. Students will demonstrate their awareness of the important critical issues associated with the form of cities and identify a topic to investigate in various related cases.
