Course Objectives
Students will be exposed to a broad range of current topics in Bioinformatics. External guests will be invited by the department to present their latest research, providing students with the opportunity to assess state-of-the-art technology and cutting-edge hypotheses. Each semester, students will observe and participate in question and answer periods that focus on critical evaluation of presented data and concepts. Presentations may be delivered in-person or remotely via Zoom.
Topical Outline
Topics will vary each semester. Speakers will cover such diverse areas as structural and functional genomics, quantitative biology and modeling, algorithm development, cloud computing, data visualization, database structures, and other areas relevant to the interests of the Institute faculty and students.
