Course Objectives

This course introduces the student to the design of masonry structural elements such as simple beams, columns and walls. On completion of this course, the student should be able to design simple masonry structural elements subjected predominantly to axial, flexural or shear stresses in accordance with applicable design standards concerning both strength and serviceability.
