Course Objectives

This course introduces the student to the design of wooden structural elements, such as simple beams, columns and panels. On completion of this course, the student should be able to design simple wooden structural elements subjected predominantly to axial, flexural or shear stresses in accordance with applicable design standards concerning both strength and serviceability.
