Non-Traditional Format

Apart from attending one common lecture hour every week, students will meet with assigned faculty to discuss their individual project execution and progress.


Prerequisite

CVLE 3420 and CVLE 3610 and (ENVE 3410 or ENVE 4435/6435)

Course Objectives

This course mainly provides students with an opportunity to apply mathematics, science and engineering principles to solve a meaningful civil engineering design problem that involves meeting real-world needs while overcoming practical constraints. Students will also be introduced to the requirements of the FE exam and made aware of career choices available to them.


Topical Outline

This course is designed to provide students with a complete engineering design experience, including problem definition, concept development and detailed design with an emphasis on overcoming real-world constraints. The lecture component of the course will serve as a review for the FE exam and provide career counseling.
