Course Description

Designed to foster independent learning, innovation, relativity, critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and design skills. Students are provided with an overview of the major, design methodology, a major group design experience, and relevant professional development experience. The goal is to strengthen the cohort and prepare students to succeed in the major.

Course Objectives

1. Develop understanding of the computer systems engineering major and the role computer systems engineers play in today’s world. 2. Develop a strong work ethic and a positive attitude towards the computer systems engineering major. 3. Develop strong written and verbal communication skills. 4. Develop strong problem solving, time management, and team player skills. 5. Conceptualize and design high-level solutions to some of today’s complex problems using a computer systems engineering approach.
