Students will understand theories of career decision making, including Super's theory of career development, social learning approaches to career development, and Holland's theory of vocational personalities.
Students will understand effective attending, active listening, basic-responding, and referral skills as used in relation to a career or educational decision-making issue.
Students will understand situations encountered by pre-college students as a result of mentoring an at-risk high school student.
Students will have skill in constructing a power-point presentation.
Students will understand fundamental characteristics of common student crises and recommended responses to effectively manage individual and community implications of these crises.
