Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to identify and describe the major ethical obstacles and challenges that investigators face in carrying out their research programs. The distinctions between laws, regulations, and professional standards of conduct should be clear, as should the interface between these elements. The ability to critically evaluate standard research practices and defend variations in such practices will demonstrate understanding of major ethical issues. Students should also be able to lead discussions regarding each of the topics listed below.
