Course Objectives
The successful student will be able to: * Define and aurally identify jazz-related styles; * List appropriate resources for teaching jazz history, jazz theory, and jazz performance practice; * Demonstrate techniques for teaching jazz improvisation; * Demonstrate ability to integrate technology in teaching jazz- related music; * Apply basic rehearsal techniques for large and small ensembles; * Plan long- and short-term instruction; * Assess (evaluate and measure) jazz performances according to appropriate criteria.
