Course Description
Methods and field experience for music education majors with specialization in choral music. Course involves effective teaching techniques, research in teaching/learning, and materials, including technology and multicultural materials.
Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students will be required to write a research paper and
present a research project on their findings. This project
should provide specific information pertaining to pedagogical
approaches related to the teaching and learning of public
school students that are being discussed in the course.

Course Objectives
The student will demonstrate: 1. Meaningful observations and inferences of choral lessons for secondary education. 2. Sequential short term and long term lesson planning and curriculum development informed by National Standards of Music Education, Georgia Standards of Music Education, and a personal philosophy of choral music education. 3. Effective music rehearsal techniques, behavior management strategies, and vocal pedagogy applicable to secondary choral music education. 4. Knowledge of program organization, responsibilities, and professional development as a choral music educator.
