Course Description
Introduction to traditional residential design. Projects focus on small and medium-sized traditional home types. Emphasis is placed on establishing conventional process and practice methods. Concentration is placed on the design process, space planning techniques, design/process documentation, hand rendering skills, and presentation techniques.

Course Objectives
1. Introduce students to complete design project–from conceptualization to execution 2. Introduce students to complete design process 3. Execute housing design research methods in order to fully understand project context, client requirements, and constraints 4. Analyze and synthesize programming information to determine scope of project 5. Acquire knowledge of space planning techniques and spatial organizational concepts 6. To provide skills and techniques in applying different color media to 3-D drawings
