Course Description

The first course in a two-semester sequence that is focused on problem framing, stakeholder analysis, concept generation, and project management skills as applied to a substantial real- world electrical engineering design problem.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: • Design solutions to electrical engineering problems • Perform professionally exhibiting integrity, accepting responsibility, taking initiative, and providing leadership necessary to ensure project success • Establish relationships and implement practices with team members, academic advisors, and project clients that support high performance and continuous improvement • Plan, monitor, and manage project schedule, resources, and work assignments to ensure timely project completion within budget constraints • Utilize prior knowledge, independent research, published information, patents, standards, and original ideas in framing problems and generating solutions
