Course Objectives
Students will: 1. Examine state and national practices and standards for the professional development of teachers. 2. Explore theories about teaching, learning, and student success. 3. Extend professional development of novice and experienced teachers through personal assessment and reflection of their own practice as it connects with their students' academic needs. 4. Develop a portfolio based on National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification criteria and the Georgia Framework for Teaching.
