Course Objectives
• Utilize a variety of instructional approaches and methods appropriate for teaching agriculture and applied subjects in non-formal learning environments. • Develop an educational event using appropriate instructional and event planning techniques. • Describe methods to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of a workshop/presentation or event. Specifically, should be able to do the following, among other tangential issues: Develop skills needed to propose, plan, execute, and evaluate special events. • Describe business and legal issues associated with event planning, event booking, and event management. • Plan, deliver, and evaluate an instructional event. • Develop a budget for an instructional event. • Market an instructional event. • Describe and demonstrate formal and non-formal instructional methods used for teaching agricultural and environmental subjects. • Demonstrate appropriate selection and use of instructional media and technology. • Assess and evaluate formal and non-formal instructional methods.
