Course Description

Helps students identify, design, and build a prototype of an innovation for education or learning. The goal is to eventually integrate and implement that innovation as part of a research agenda during your graduate studies.

Students will work independently with tools, but there will be regular class meetings to help shape the research plan and assist with development.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the course, each student will be able to: 1. Design and build a prototype of an innovation relevant to education, training, and learning; 2. Reflect and write about the design of your innovation prototype; 3. Write design documents that explain and provide a rationale for your innovation prototype; 4. Build a public Web site to support and explain your innovation prototype that integrates the design documents and other resources; and 5. Develop skill and confidence in presenting your ideas and discussing course topics orally in small and large group settings.
